LADIES RANKING EVENT NO.6 -Q’s Clondalkin
The final ladies ranking event of the season took place on Sunday 10th March in Q’s SC Clondalkin. With 1st and 2nd in the rankings being sewn up already, there was still a hot battle for the number 3 spot between Michelle French and Sandra Ward, who are only separated by a couple of merit points. Michelle was drawn against no.
LADIES RANKING EVENT NO. 5 – BREAKERS,GOREY
The 5th Ladies ranking event took place in Breaker, Gorey on 9/2/13. The 1st semi-final featured Claire Mill against Michelle French. These 1st two frames were decided on the black in Claires favor, and she took the impetus and ran off a comfortable winner of the 3rd frame to win the match 3-0. The other semi featured Michelle Sherwin against Sandra Bryan. The 1st frame was a very close affair, with Michelle only narrowly winning it.
LADIES RANKING EVENT NO 6
The 6th Ladies ranking event took place in Q’s snooker club on Saturday 7th April. Catherine Fitzsimons made her return to the ranking series after a short absence. She played on form Sandra Bryan, and it was not to be a triumphant return for Catherine as Sandra quickly seen her off 3-0 in their quarter-final. On the other side of the draw Treasa keegan played number 3 Michelle French.
Ladies Ranking Event 5
The 5th ladies ranking event took place in Breakers, Gorey, on Sunday 12th February. The draw uncannily panned out the same as the previous 4, with Treasa Keegan taking on Sandra Bryan. The recent selection of a new cue for Sandra did wonders for her, and she ran out the winner of this match by 3-1, to set herself up another semi-final face off with current number 2 Claire Mill.
Ladies Event 3 – Q’s Clondalkin
The 3rd Ladies ranking event was held in Q’s Clondalkin on Sunday 4th December. Michelle French drew Michelle Sherwin again this month in the semi-final. This was a tough match for the current number 1, as her opponent kept right up with her in all frames right up until the colours, but the reigning number 1 showed her experience and managed to close out the frames to win the match 3-0.
Ladies Ranking Event Number 2
The 2nd Ladies ranking event wa sheld in Breakers, Gorey on Sunday 6th November. Resident player Sandra Bryan played Treasa Keegan in the q-finals. It was an extremely closely contested match, with every frame being won on the pink or the black. There was nothing to call between both players all the way, but Treasa eventually ran out a 3-1 winner in this epic battle which lasted over 2 and a half hours, when she potted a screamer of a black the lenght of the table.
Ladies Ranking Event 1
The 1st Ladies Ranking event of the season was held in Celbridge Snooker Club on Sunday 9th October. The day saw the welcome return of 2 past players, veteran Cathy Dunne, who came out of retirement, and also Michelle French who unfortunately had to forego playing last season. We also welcomed new player Claire Mill from Scotland, who is now stranger to all the ladies, as she has been on the International circuit since 2004.
Ladies 6 Red Championship
The ladies 6-Red national championships was held in Celbridge on 14th August. There were 5 players present. The players played each other 3 frames each in a round-robin format. 1 point was awarded per frame and the top 2 players on points at the end of the round robin competed in the final.
